Dance legend Mikhail Baryshnikov takes the stage to act in this theater work based on two short stories of humor, despair, and unrequited love by Anton Chekhov. Two hunters talk late into the night and share stories of a man’s fears trumping the pursuit of life’s most promising possibilities. Surveillance footage, folk dance, instructional hunting videos, and interviews with the cast bridge the 19th-century anti-love stories and today’s modern sensibility. Adapted and directed by Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar of Big Dance Theater, who return to the MCA Stage for their fourth MCA Stage project.
