Hailing from Baltimore, Dru Hill was formed in 1995 by high school friends Jazz, Sisqo, Nokio and Woody and have had hits such as “In My Bed” and “How Deep is Your Love.” Formed in the late 80′s by brothers Dwayne and Raphael Wiggins and their cousin Timothy Christian, Tony! Toni! Tone! reached No. 1 on the R&B chart with “Little Walter.” R&B trip Guy was one of the first groups to introduce new jack swing sound in the mid to late 80′s and enjoyed instant success, as their self-titled debut album sold over three million records worldwide.

Mike Tyson is taking his acclaimed one-man show on the road and will stop in Chicago for three performances at the Cadillac Palace Theatre! Helmed by renowned director Spike Lee and producer James L. Nederlander, this show gives you a rare, personal look inside the life and mind of one of the most feared men ever to win the boxing heavyweight crown. It’s a theatrical knockout!

Cowboy Mouth is a rock band based in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The band name “Cowboy Mouth” usually means “One with a loud and raucous voice”. The nucleus of the band formed in the 1990s, and they have become a powerhouse live act whose performances have been likened to “a religious experience.

Composer and trumpeter Orbert Davis and his 15-piece chamber ensemble of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic perform Emmy Award-winning music from the 2010 WTTW public television documentary, “DuSable to Obama: Chicago’s Black Metropolis.”  The presentation will integrate video highlights from the documentary to tell its tale of Chicago’s uniquely African-American history from early 20th century ragtime to the present.

DeVotchKa is a four-piece multi-instrumental and vocal ensemble. They take their name from the Russian word devochka (девочка), meaning “girl”. Based in Denver, Colorado, the quartet is made up of Nick Urata, who sings and plays theremin, guitar, bouzouki, piano, and trumpet; Tom Hagerman, who plays violin, accordion, and piano; Jeanie Schroder, who sings and plays sousaphone, double bass, and flute; and Shawn King, who plays percussion and trumpet.

It’s also not as bad as it seems. In the midst of uncertainty, there are still plenty of joys to choose and celebrate – both intellectual and carnal. The Second City’s 100th Revue: Who Do We Think We Are? explores the good, the bad and the ridiculous that makes us uniquely American and more importantly, makes us human.

Hosted by the Chinatown Special Events Committee, the annual Lunar New Year parade will be on Sunday, February 17th at 1pm this year. The parade will begin at 24th and Wentworth and march north to Cermak. Come and join the thousands of neighborhood residents, small businesses, Chicago visitors and us at this year’s celebrations!
